English: Gravestone of Christopher John Laycock (1887 – 3 December 1960) at Bidadari Garden at 10 Vernon Park, Singapore 367812. Born in England, Laycock was the founder of one of Singapore's earliest law firms, Laycock and Ong. He also served as a Municipal Commissioner from 1927 to 1937, and as a Legislative Councillor from 1948 to 1955. A keen botanist, he established the Mandai Orchid Garden in 1950. |
