| Description |
English: Grassed area at Leaden Hall, New Forest. The circular bombing range target (No. 2 wall target) at Leaden Hall has a protrusion to the NW - this view shows the grassed part of the protrusion as you approach along the path from Little Cockley Plain. As with other wartime sites in the Forest any above ground structures have been removed and the area grassed over - although the concrete apron here was not removed until 1991. In this heathy wilderness ponies will come here to graze on the palatable grass, hence its lawn-like state. In the distance are the trees of Islands Thorns Inclosure. |
