| Description |
I am at Granville Island, a former cannery area redeveloped into a shopping district. It sits across the False Creek from Vancouver's city core. Granville Street Bridge carries Granville Street over False Creek. British Columbia Highway 99 uses this bridge to leave downtown Vancouver and head south on Granville Street, becoming a freeway as it enters Richmond, then continuing as a 4-lane freeway through Richmond, Delta, and Surrey to White Rock. It then enters the US as I-5 and continues through the US West Coast all the way to Tijuana, Mexico. My remaining journey back to Los Angeles indeed will take place almost entirely on BC-99 and I-5. |
