Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Granite pavement and erratic boulder The bare rock resulting from severe glacial erosion is a constant feature of the higher parts of the island. Here is an erratic boulder that has been dropped by the stagnant, melting ice. The boulder, which is generally rounded, has been fractured by the rough treatment, and a large piece has split off the side. The green, boggy gully is probably the trace of a fault which has crushed and weakened the rock and left it prone to accelerated erosion by ice and water.
