This lovely home in the Granger neighborhood of Whitehorse (above the airport) has relatively small windows to allow more insulated wall and a metal roof with snow guards. Snow guards are the linear horizontal metal pieces toward the bottom of each roof section. The are intended to keep the snow from sliding off the roof to a lower level and allow it to melt instead. Keeping the snow on the roof provides an added layer of insulation and protects people below from an avalanche. QUS_1872 |
