Milk churn stand Grange Lower

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Milk churn stand in the townland of Grange Lower. It looks just like the wall is thicker here, but it is located just opposite the exit of a driveway into a dairy farm and has the right measurements (170x80cm) to be a milk churn stand. Unfortunately, I had no opportunity to talk to the farmer. In the background is a holy well, but you have to know it's there to spot it.

The milk was very likely delivered to the creamery in Goresbridge called Barrowvale Creamery. The building no longer survives, but it was one of the first creameries in Co. Kilkenny.
