Description
Svenska: Granfjällsbjörnen (eller "Granis") ses här uppstoppad på Store Mosse nationalparks Naturum, Kävsjö socken, Gnosjö kommun, Jönköpings län, Finnveden, Småland, Sverige. Granfjällsbjörnen var en hane av brunbjörn (Ursus arctos arctos). Björnen föddes vintern 1994-1995 i Transtrandsfjällen och blev utrustad med radiosändare på Granfjället, vilket gett honom sitt namn. Våren 1998 började björnen vandra till norra Uppland. Under sin levnad vandrade han genom Uppland, Stockholms skärgård, Södermanland, Östergötland, Småland och södra Västergötland. Björnen sköts 31 augusti 2000 på Björnakullsmosse i Maramö i Värnamo socken (nära gränsen till Kärda socken där gårdarna Norra och Södra Björnakullen ligger) 5 km nordväst om Värnamo. Den skjutna björnen vägde 166,6 kg.
English: A taxidermied, male brown bear (Ursus arctos arctos) shown at the visitor's center at Store Mosse National Park in Småland, Sweden. The bear was born the winter 1994-1995 in the mountains near Sälen in Dalarna. In spring 1998 the bear started to wander. During the last two years of his life the bear wandered through Uppland, Södermanland, Östergötland, Småland, and Västergötland. The bear was shot on 31 August 2000 at Björnakullsmosse (litterally: "The Bear Hill Bog") near Värnamo in Småland.
