The photo depicts the Grandma Moses gravesite and shows a dual-view of the Moses family memorial and her grave marker. The Memorial notes: "Thomas S. Moses 1862-1927 (her husband), Anna Mary Robertson (1860-1961) and their daughter Winona R. Fisher (1888-1958) " The gravestone marker is inscribed: “Anna Mary Robertson Moses Grandma Moses Her primitive paintings captured the spirit and preserved the scene of a vanishing countryside.” Anna Mary Robertson Moses (September 7, 1860 – December 13, 1961) was an American folk artist and primitivist painter, known by her nickname Grandma Moses; she has become a world famous artist with her renditions of rural country life. |
