La citation "Dunkerque a bien mérité de la Patrie" fut donnée par le Comité de Salut Public après l'héroïque conduite des habitants lors du siège de Dunkerque en 1793. La citation "Ville héroïque, sert d'exemple à toute la Nation" fut attribuée en 1917. Les médailles sont respectivement: *La Croix de Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur - 1919 *Les Croix de Guerre avec Palmes - 1917 et 1945 *La Distinguished Service Cross - 1919. |
