Description
Français : L'entrée de la basilique de Saint-Nicolas-de-Port est composée de nombreux éléments propre au style gothique flamboyant qui caractérise l'édifice. Elle s'inspire notamment sur cette partie de la cathédrale de Toul située également en Lorraine et construit quelques années auparavant.

La statue entre les deux portes représente donc ce fameux Saint-Nicolas dont le chevalier lorrain Aubert de Varangéville aurait volé une des phalanges dans l'église qui recueillait les reliques du saint quand il était dans les pouilles (Bari en Italie). Il l'aurait ramené ici et c'est depuis un lieu de pèlerinage majeur pour les adorateurs du saint (même si le bâtiment a changé entre temps).
