English: Grand Union Canal: Winkwell swing bridge This is Bridge No. 147 on the canal, a key operated swing bridge. Originally made of timber and operated by a large wheel turned by hand, the operation was mechanized in the 1980s. According to the information board at Winkwell Lock there are three such swing bridges on the southern section of the Grand Union Canal. Beyond the bridge is 614801. |
