Description

A gathering with guest speakers was held to celebrate recently completed improvements to the Mather Point and Grand Canyon Visitor Center areas. The event took place on June 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the new Mather Point Amphitheater. After the gathering, there was an open-house-style opportunity to visit six informational stations located at key points throughout the area. This poster was on display at one of the stations. . The Mather Point and Grand Canyon Visitor Center improvements created much needed parking at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center, a vehicle-free visitor experience at Mather Point, a new rim-side amphitheater and many informational and interpretive improvements to the visitor center plaza. Implementation of this plan has resulted in a vastly improved visitor experience.. .
