Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This 3,000 hp locomotive was one of many, once used in the AMTRAK system. The F40, in one of its many variants, is still in use today by Chicago's METRA SYSTEM and Boston's MBTA, among others. This four-axel, diesel-electric unit was built by the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors. All of the F40 units formerly used by AMTRAK, have now been retired.
