Description

HAVASUPAI BURDEN BASKET. TWINED & CONICAL SHAPE. BLACK GEOMETRIC DESIGN ON TOP 1/2 OF BASKET. DESIGN CONSISTS OF 2 BANDS. MATERIAL PROBABLY WILLOW. POINT IS DAMAGED, LEAVING OBLONG HOLE (3.7 X 1.6 CM). LEATHER STRAP THREADED THROUGH BASKET TIED ON OUTSIDE. BASKET MATERIAL IS PROBABLY WILLOW. TOP 2 RIM BANDS ARE STITCHED BY COILING. HUNG IN KOLB STUDIO UNTIL MAR1977. WALL H 52.1, MOUTH 62.3 CM. CIRCA 1900.
