Description
English: Looking east across at what was once Grand Canal Court park, at the northeast corner of 6th Avenue and Canal Street at the end of Thompson Street in SoHo / Hudson Square / Tribeca, Manhattan. The Parks Department basketball court was destroyed in order to construct a new substation for the Canal Street IND subway station underneath. Note this funny section of scaffolding holding up a container and/or mobile office. It implies that there was recently a building here, not an open asphalt court. It also lists the site's address as 1-15 Thompson Street.
