[edit]DescriptionGrand Avenue Hotel, southeast corner of Grand Avenue and Olive Street. L. H. Gerardi grocer on street level.jpg |
English: The Grand Avenue Hotel, at the southeast corner of Grand Avenue and Olive Street. L. H. Gerardi grocer is pictured on street level. The grocer was located in The Lincoln Building, which was built in 1885.
By 1882, Grand Avenue was the primary terminus for streetcars that ran west from downtown. As streetcar traffic brought more people to the area, small shops cropped up near streetcar stops and the area began to be accessible to people from all over the city. Title: Grand Avenue Hotel, southeast corner of Grand Avenue and Olive Street. L. H. Gerardi grocer on street level. |
