| Description | Grand Canyon National Park: An arroyo cut through this room at Palisades, destroying half of it. At the time of excavation, the hearth was endangered of being washed away as well. Sediment recovered from the hearth during excavation held burnt cotton seeds, providing the first definitive evidence for cotton cultivation in Grand Canyon by ancestral Puebloan peoples.
