Summary
[edit]DescriptionGralix Hall - geograph.org.uk - 702205.jpg |
English: Gralix Hall. From 1851 to 1908 this building housed a National (Church of England) School.
The National School was a brick building with a residence attached, erected in 1851, to cater for up to 84 children. It was closed in 1908 and the building served as a meeting place. In 1955 it was given the name Gralix, the name being derived from the surnames of three locals who purchased the Hall for the village: GRay, ALlen and PhoenIX. Gralix Hall is located adjacent to > 702208. See also http://www.plong.btinternet.co.uk/schools.htm#Primary%20School |
