The original prairie grain elevators are becoming fewer and further between - especially rows of them. But there are two residents in the Mossleigh area who plan to do everything they can to ensure the longevity of the hamlet's elevator row. Cousins Ian and Eric Donovan each own one of the three elevators in Mossleigh's elevator row. Parrish and Heimbecker (P&H) own the third. Eric acquired his elevator - the northern most elevator in the row of three - about 10 years ago. Since then, Eric, who also farms, has put the elevator to good use as a storage facility. However, he hasn't been able to use the elevator these last couple years due to some problems with the structure, such as a leaky roof. That hasn't stopped him from looking into getting the elevator repaired to working condition. The only catch to repairing the elevator was finding a crew that can do the work, said Eric.

"They're kind of a dying breed, those guys who work on (grain elevators)," he said.
