Description
English: 18th century map showing the Lower County (in pale yellow) and Upper County (in dark yellow) of Katzenelnbogen, which had belonged to the House of Hesse since the late 15th century.

Lower Katzenelnbogen and Upper Katzenelnbogen belonged respectively to Hesse-Rheinsfels and Hesse-Darmstadt when this map was published.

The map was published by Homann Heirs in 1745. The French description at the top read Geographical map of the Lower County of Katzenelnbogen, updated by Homann's heirs. With Imperial Privilege. Year 1745. Despite this description, the map also shows the Upper County (in dark yellow.)
