Nederlands: Omschrijving: Grafische industrie, Nederland. Ontwerptekening en architectuurimpressie van het in 1926 in aanbouw zijnde gebouw van de N.V. Drukkerij de Spaarnestad aan de Nassaulaan in Haarlem, gepubliceerd in nummer 52 van de Katholieke Illustratie, woensdag 22 september 1926 [de jaargangen van de Katholieke Illustratie begonnen in deze periode in oktober; nummer 52 van 1926 is tevens het 60-jarig jubileumnummer van het tijdschrift dat in 1867 voor het eerst verscheen; dat men bij De Spaarnestad destijds zelf moeite had met in welk jaar het blad voor het eerst verscheen, blijkt uit de illustratie door Jos Vetter op de voorpagina van het jubileumnummer. Daarin staat de band van de eerste jaargang op afgebeeld met als jaartal 1866]. De groei van de drukkerij is volgens het bijschrift voor een groot deel te danken aan de groei van de Katholieke Illustratie. Van de linkervleugel waren in 1915 de meest linkse erker en aan weerszijde twee raambreedtes gebouwd. Hierop werd in 1926 voortgeborduurd met de kenmerkende toren op de hoek. De twee erkers het dichtst bij de hoek werden uiteindelijk niet uitgevoerd, de gevel werd vlak gehouden. |
