| Description |
English: Gracemount multi stripped for demolition One of the three Gracemount tower blocks soft stripped in preparation for demolition on October 25th 2009 (Soutra Court, Garvald Court and Fala Court). The tower blocks provided 246 homes. The council propose building a 'low-rise' development of 220 units, mainly flats in three and four-storey blocks, with a considerable loss of open space as a result. Some local residents are unhappy with the plans - see the Evening News September 16 2009 http://edinburghnews.scotsman.com/latestnews/Residents-slam-plans-for-first.5650548.jp . |
