English: The death of Grace Mera Molisa on 4 January 2002 was a great

shock to all who knew her and worked with her. An educator, activist and poet, she was born in Vanuatu on 17 February 1946. A measure of her standing is reflected in the lengthy ceremonies conducted over five days. Her body lay in state in Vanuatu,

Ambae, and Santo.
