Hohensalza to niemiecka nazwa starego piastowskiego grodu, jakim jest Inowrocław /prawa miejskie ok. 1237r., wymieniane w 1343 r. w pokoju kaliskim na czwartym miejscu zaraz po Krakowie, Poznaniu i Kaliszu, założyciel - książę Kazimierz Konradowic/. Tak więc, nazistowski generał Luftwaffe urodził się na polskiej piastowskiej ziemi, podstępem wziętej podczas zaborów i wcielonej do Prus.
