Description
English: Graf Ferdinand Johann Benjamin zur Lippe-Biesterfeld (1744-1772) gibt sich in souveräner Pose, stehend, leicht abgewandt, den rechten Arm auf einen ziselierten Helm aufgestützt. Ein leuchtend roter Rock über goldgelber Weste verleiht der Gestalt klassische Würde, während die fein ausgearbeitete Frisur dem Geschmack der Zeit entspricht. Weniger kontrastreich präsentiert der Maler Anton Graff (1736-1813) die Gräfin Wilhelmine Henriette, geb. von Schönburg-Lichtenstein (1746-1819). Von einem seidig schimmernden Rokokokleid verhüllt, das mit aufwendigen grünen Seidenschleifen und zarten Spitzenrüschen einen Hauch Koketterie atmet, vermittelt ihr Bildnis hochherrschaftliche Noblesse. Die gepuderte Haartracht und vornehm blasse Haut unterstreichen die aristokratische Herkunft ohne aufdringliches Schmuckwerk. Lediglich der linke Unterarm, der auf einem verzierten Samtkissen ruht, wird von einem goldenen Schimmer umschmeichelt, der sich im Prunkrahmen fortsetzt.
