Summary
[edit]DescriptionGoxhill Airfield - Battle Headquarters - geograph.org.uk - 41308.jpg |
English: Battle Headquarters - Goxhill Airfield, Goxhill, Lincolnshire, England. Standard 11008/41 type Battle Headquarters built at Goxhill Airfield. The HQ consists of a complex of 5 underground rooms entered by steps at one end. The command post was built 3 feet higher than the other rooms to allow the Local Defence Officer a 360 degree view through the slit in the observation cupola. Although they look like pillboxes they were not designed to be fought from. For more info visit http://www.pillboxesuk.co.uk/html/battle_hq.html |
