Description
English: Goslar, Lower Saxony, Germany. Former artillery tower, erected 1508 to protect the gate "Rosentor" (gate of roses). Once the tower was called "Schäferturm" (shepherd tower). The present name "Achtermann" originally belonged to another tower which was demolished.
Deutsch: Goslar, Niedersachsen, Deutschland. Ein Geschützturm von 1508, der dem Schutz des Rosentores diente. Ursprünglich hieß er "Schäferturm"; der Name "Achtermann" gehörte zu einem anderen Turm, der in der Neuzeit abgebrochen wurde.
