English: Four Polish girl scouts, orphans or half-orphans, who attended one of the Polish schools established for them in Isfahan in 1942 by the Polish government in exile (based in London).
The girls are: TOP: Aleksandra Jarmulska (d. 1918), future Aleksandra Jarmulska-Rymaszewska 2nd row, from L: Maria Gordziejko, future Esperantist and Ada Fighiera-Sikorska, future Esperantist BOTTOM: Maria Sikorska, Ada's sister. This is a fragment of a much larger photograph. It was taken by master portrait photographer from Isfahan, Abolqasem Jala. He took ca 1,200 pictures of the Polish war refugees who had been forcibly deported by the Soviet Union into Siberia, then had the luck to leave the "inhuman" Soviet soil with the army of General Władysław Anders for Iran in 1942 and were awaiting the end of World War 2 in Isfahan. All the negatives were glass negatives which Jala put in boxes, naming them "The Poles, 1942-44". The negatives were found only in the 21st century. Some of them have been published, most remain unpublished as the Jala Estate and their representative's financial expectations exceed what the interested parties could possibly afford.Polski: Cztery polskie sieroty lub półsieroty, które uczęszczały do jednej z polskich szkół założonych dla polskich dzieci w Isfahanie w 1942 r. przez Polski Rząd na Uchodźstwie. Dziewczynki to:
GÓRA: Aleksandra Jarmulska (Aleksandra Jarmulska-Rymaszewska, zm. 2018); 2. rząd, od L: Maria Gordziejko, przyszła esperantystka Ada Sikorska (Ada Fighiera-Sikorska), przyszła esperantystka DÓŁ: Maria Sikorska, siostra Ady. To fragment większego zdjęcia autorstwa fotografa-portrecisty z Isfahanu Abolqasema Dżali. Negatywy odnaleziono dopiero w XXI wieku. Część z nich została opublikowana, większość pozostaje nieznana, ponieważ spadkobiery fotografa i reprezentująca ich osoba mają wygórowane oczekiwania finansowe. |
