Summary

Description
English: Gopsall Hall Temple Gopsall Hall Temple where Handel is said to have composed his Messiah in 1741. Historians dispute this as Gopsall Hall was not built until 1750, yet there is a picture by the Belgian artist Pieter Tillemans who died in 1734 which shows the Hall in all its glory with the Temple in the left foreground. (Inset) The original Temple from an architects drawing, the statue above is called Religion and today is housed in the garden of Belgrave Hall Museum Leicester.
