| Description |
English: Goodrich Castle walls and view beyond. Polytunnels can be seen in the distance, not something that would have been there when the famous cannon, Roaring Meg, was last in use at the castle. Parliamentary forces used it to batter the walls of Goodrich in 1646, towards the end of the Civil War. It was cast in the Forest of Dean and could fire a 2cwt shell. The green cover is probably there to stop it being used for litter, or filling with water. |
