Text Appearing Before Image:
Attention is called to the new mammoth podded pea, CM "TEDDY ROOSEVELT," which gives do\ible the quantity of shelled peas to most other sorts. New Giant Podded Main Crop Pea, ^'TEDDY ROOSEVELT."
Text Appearing After Image:
New Mammoth Podded Pea, "Teddy Roosevelt.1 The largest "podder," surest "cropper," and heav- iest "yielder," of all the main crop sorts. The "Telephone" and "Stratagem" were the FIRST large podded sorts. They naturally created a sensa- tion because widely advertised, and are at present the most largely used in America of anj'of the large podded varieties. Thev have, however, one very serious defect. THE PODS CONTAIN VERY FEYV" PEAS. The fault has been remedied in some of the later introductions, and notably so in the "Teddy Roose- velt." 1 his grand new pea resembles the Telephone in color of pod and foliage and in habit of growth, but the pods are larger, and a bushel of pods will SHELL OCT NEARLY TWICE AS MANY PEAS as the Telephone. Xothing in the long list of peas excels the "Ted- d)- in richness, sweetness and flavor, and it ought not to take a pea planter long to figure out that a bushel of pods that will give as manv peas as TWO BUSHELS of other varieties is the KIND TO GROW. Large pkt., 10c; qt., 55c ; 2 qts., $1.00, postpaid. By express or freight, qt., 40c; 2 qts., 70c; bu., $7.00. I* CARTER'S "DAISY." Second Early. Although this pea is of English origin and introduction, it was given its name by an American, who upon seeing it in the trial grounds of the firm who originated it, exclaimed, " It's a Daisy," and it was so christened on the spot. The striking features of the Daisy pea are its large pods, and the way in which they are heaped up in ridges on the short strong vines, which are from 1G to 13 inches high, and NEED !NO BRUSH. The pods are nearly double the size of American Wonder or Gems, and are alirajrs irell filled with large peas of most excellent qualitj'. Large pkt., 10c; qt., 50c, postpaid.
