| Description |
English: Built in 1900-1901, this Gothic Revival-style church was designed by Sams and Carter, and constructed for the congregation of the Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, founded in 1893. The building features a red brick exterior, a cross-gable roof, crenellated parapets, gothic arched bays with stained glass windows and doors, a front tower with an octagonal spire, pinnacles, and a belfry with louvers, stone trim, brick buttresses, and a series of rear wings that serve as a parish house for the church. The building is a contributing structure in the Columbia Historic District II, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, and expanded to its present size in 2018. The building remains in use by Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. |
