er side of the penisa splint of cardboard or thin wood is applied, theouter skin of the organ being well protected with cot-ton. The splints are held in place by adhesive plasterstrips. The splint is covered with a tight bandage. It is important before leaving the patient to see if hecan pass his urine; for in this way we know whetheror not the splint has been applied too tightly topermit the passage of the urinary stream.
