Summary

[edit]
Description Collected by Colonel Richard Meinertzhagen in the Sahara, 1931. One of around 500 Saharan insects presented to the Natural History Museum by Meinertzhagen in 1932. Meinertzhagen was an interesting character, his biography is here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Meinertzhagen : since it was presented to the NHM, this specimen was handled by three well known entomologists. Sir Guy Marshall was unable to identify it; K.G. Blair identified it correctly, but with '?' so it was never incorporated. Today the identification was confirmed by Massimo Meregalli.
