La scala graduata, che corre lungo il perimetro semicircolare, è presente su una sola delle due facce essendo l'altra priva di qualunque incisione. La scala è in realtà formata da due scale concentriche: mentre una corre da 0° a 180° in senso orario, l'altra lo fa in senso antiorario Il nome del costruttore è riportato sul tratto di base che costituisce il diametro del semicerchio
