Description
Español: Gayola o gaiola es como se denominaba antiguamente al toril donde los toros esperaban para ser lidiados. Significa jaula o cárcel. La suerte a puerta gayola o portagaiola es como se denomina al recibimiento por parte del torero arrodillado ante la puerta por la que el toro accede al ruedo. Reviste un alto riesgo porque el toro sale cegado momentáneamente por el contraste de luz entre el chiquero y la plaza.
English: Gayola or gaiola is as it was formerly called the toril where the bulls were waiting to be fought. It means cage or jail. Luck at gayola door or portagaiola is what is called reception by the bullfighter kneeling before the door through which the bull accesses the ring. It is at high risk because the bull is momentarily blinded by the contrast of light between the pigsty and the plaza.
Français : Gayola ou gaiola est, comme on l'appelait autrefois, le lieu où les taureaux attendaient d'être combattus. Cela signifie une cage ou une prison. La chance à la porte de gayola ou au portagaiola est ce que l’on appelle le torero agenouillé devant la porte par laquelle le taureau accède au ring. Le taureau est momentanément aveuglé par le contraste de lumière entre la porcherie et la place.
