Summary

[edit]
Description

German WW2 era Tracked Mine Official designation:- Sd.Kfz.303 Leichter Ladungsträger Goliath Known to the Allies as ‘Beelte Tanks’, Goliaths were wire controlled miniature tanks of which the petrol powered variant could carry 220lb of high explosives. Detonated remotely, they could be used to destroy tanks, buildings or bridges, and to disrupt infantry formations. 7564 of all models were built between 1942 and 1944. Although effective if correctly positioned, they were vulnerable due to their size and slow speed and most failed to reach their targets. This is a petrol powered variant of which 4,929 were produced between 1943 and 1945. It is on display in Hall 10 of the Patriot Museum Complex. Park Patriot, Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, Russia.
