NPS/Patrick Myers There are fall colors throughout the Rocky Mountains, but only one place where you can experience fall colors and giant dunes together! Fresh snow has blanketed the Sangre de Cristo Mountains over the past week, increasing the contrast of ecosystems even more. Bright gold colors of fall light up increasingly chilly days. Fall can be a great time to visit Great Sand Dunes!
