Summary
[edit]DescriptionGold leaf electroscope homemade.jpg |
English: Photo of a gold-leaf electroscope from around 1900. This is a homemade one for amateur electricity experiments. The two grounded strips of metal foil on the inside of the jar flanking the gold leaves are a safety measure. If an excessive charge is placed on the electroscope, the gold leaves will touch the foil and discharge, rather than tearing. |
