| Description |
English: Golborne Colliery Long gone. Just to the left of the heapstead building are two grey blocks on the horizon. They look like tower winder houses and I suspect that is Parkside Colliery, also gone.
Indeed, review of the overview confirms my suspicion. That can only be Parkside to the south. Parkside was at Newton-le-Willows and the satellite shows a scar where it was, right next to the M6 and on its west side. I did visit Parkside to photograph a winch but only time will tell whether I have any exterior views. |
