Stirring the Ubalau

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: NomVuka and her community was visiting a Blessing Point in the Silvermine mountains. This ceremony was two-fold, one of inviting her father back as an Ancestor and preparing for her "home coming" Ceremony. All of her family, Clan and the community was invited to witness and partake in this day.

In the picture above, she is stirring the Ubalau in front of her community, inviting her Ancestors and all Beings from the medicine wheel. NomVuka carefully shared her journey and presented the medicine which healed her, which now becomes the medicine of the home. The day opened by giving thanks and inviting all to be present and bless the day.

Healing stories were shared and witnessed by the community present. Music, food and ceremony continued....It was a blessing and healing for all present. Camagu https://www.belovedsa.co.za/biography/

The Ubalau, is a dream root, called Silene Belledoides.

It's part of the white road. Traditional healers use this incredible medicine to connect to their Ancestors, so they can see and communicate clearly into all worlds.

To prepare this dream herb, the root is dried and pounded in a pestle and mortar to split the fibres apart so the powder falls out. About a level of tps of the powder is placed in a 3 litre billy can of water and stirred with a forked stick to produce foam. This has to be stirred for 3 days and 2 nights intermittently to keep the water covered in foam. The foam is then sucked up into the mouth, after stirring where the bubbles break up and the air is breathed into the lungs. Best to do it standing on your knees, preferably with your hands behind your back. Before taking more foam it is stirred again. A single herb can also be added to the water extracts the content of the herb, making it a picture medicine. The extreme dilution and serial stirring creates a serial increase in potency, just like classical homeopathy. With the air of bubbles being breathed into the lungs, it is also possible to absorb the diluted and potentised medicine directly into the body without digestion.
