l bunches which are to be sown so thicklv on the silk, with which the outside of the bas-ket is covered, as to leave no apparent spacesbetween them. Each bunch should be com-posed of about three shades of color made upin the following manner : The several pieces ofknitting being selected, a few rows of each areto be unravelled, and all the ends being takenup at the same time, are to be held between thethumb of the left hand and the side of the hand,as low and near the joint as possible ; the upperpart of the thumb being then slightly relaxed,the worsteds are, with the right hand, woundround the thumb and finger of the left hand, likea figure 8, and held in that position while themiddle, including the ends with which it beganand left off, is sewed together with a piece ofsilk. The bunches should be placed in heaps,according to their respective shade, and sewnon the basket, according to taste, interminglingthe hues, so as to avoid the appearance of for-mality.
