Summary
DescriptionGobron engine (Autocar Handbook, Ninth edition).jpg |
'Ch. II 'Fig. 34 Diagrammatic section of the Gobron engine The opposed-piston engine used in Gobron-Brillié cars. Unusually for an opposed piston engine, there was only a single crankshaft. The lower pistons were driven conventionally, the upper pistons were driven by long connecting rods to a yoke above them. As for other engines of the period, it used petrol (gasoline) as a fuel, although this was unusual for an opposed-piston, or a cylinder-ported four-stroke engine.
