Description
Español: Matar a una cabra para navidad, es una costumbre común en la Isla de Margarita, en donde toda la familia participa en esta actividad, los testículos y la sangre son comidos en el momento crudos y las partes del animal son divididos entre las familias que participan en la matanza, dejando siempre las piernas para el dueño de la cabra. Los animales son criados durante todo el año en el patio de las casas. Esta actividad ha ido en declive, debido a los altos indices de criminalidad en Venezuela, que ha impedido la cría de animales en casas.
English: Kill a goat for Christmas, is a common custom in Margarita Island, where the whole family participates in this activity, testicles and blood are eaten in the raw moment and animal parts are divided among the families involved in the killing, leaving the legs to the owner of the goat. The animals are raised throughout the year in the courtyard of houses. This activity has been declining due to high crime rates in Venezuela, which has prevented the breeding of animals in homes.
