| Description |
English: Gloucester Eastgate Station in 1962, with a 2MT 2-6-0. View westward, as in SO8318 : The 'Devonian' at Gloucester Eastgate and SO8318 : Gloucester Eastgate Station in 1950, with a 'Compound' 4-4-0. In the latter days, more modern engines were used as station pilot and here we have post-war built LMS Ivatt 2MT No. 46527 on this work; and one of the ubiquitous Class 5 4-6-0s can be glimpsed in the bay. The railwaymen on the left are probably going to the ex-GW Locomotive Depot, which was across the main lines behind the camera. |
