Summary
[edit]DescriptionGlassilaun - geograph.org.uk - 192234.jpg |
English: Glassilaun. The hamlet of Glassilaun viewed from the beach car park to the east. The tide is low enough to expose a piece of beach linking the headland to the small grassy island of Illaunmore. In the foreground we see dunes made of windblown sand stabilised by marram grass though wind erosion is in evidence with the creation of a blow out within the dunes. Half a kilometre beyond the hamlet we see the 39 metre ice smoothed knoll. |
