Das Glasmosaik „Der Mensch bezwingt den Kosmos“ wurde 1971/1972 von Fritz Eisel (1929-2010) für den Gebäudekomplex des ehemaligen VEB Maschinelles Rechnen im Bezirk Potsdam gestaltet.
Das als Band der Erdgeschossfassade des Bürogebäudes des Rechenzentrums über die Hausecke Dortusstraße/Breite Straße laufende, insgesamt 70 m breite Mosaik besteht aus 18 jeweils 300 cm hohen und 330 cm breiten Tafeln.
Der Bilderzyklus thematisiert die wissenschaftlich-technische Revolution: verschiedene Aspekte des Fortschritts - von modernen Landmaschinen über elektronische Armaturen für die Datenverarbeitung bis zur Weltraumfahrt - werden dargestellt.
Die bildlichen Darstellungen werden von zwei Schrifttafeln gerahmt, der Relativitätstheorie von Albert Einstein (erste Tafel an der Dortusstraße) und dem Marx'schen Gesetz von der Ökonomie der Zeit (vorletzte Tafel an der Breite Straße).
