This is a photograph of an architectural monument.
It is on the list of cultural monuments of Glückstadt, no. 10417. Glückstadt (Schleswig-Holstein) – Königstraße 41 – Ehemaliges Gießhaus und Gefängnis – Baujahr: 1641 – Das langgestreckte zweigeschossige Gebäude hat 16 zur Königstraße zeigende Fensterachsen. Es wird von einem Satteldach bedeckt, das nach Westen einseitig abgewalmt ist. Dort schließt – etwas zurückversetzt – ein kleinerer Anbau mit einer großen Eingangstür an. – Das Gebäude stammt ursprünglich von 1641. Es wurde von Christian IV. als Gießhaus für Kanonenrohre und Glocken errichtet. Franciscus Ahasverus Roen aus den Niederlanden schuf hier das erste einheitliche Artilleriesystem Dänemarks. – Nach Schleifung der Festungsanlagen 1814-16 verlor die Gießerei ihre militärische Bedeutung. Von 1839 bis 1929 diente das Haus als Gefängnis. Auch eine Kirche wurde eingerichtet. Danach nutzte zeitweilig eine Druckerei die Räumlichkeiten. Ab 2010 ist dort das freikirchliche Sozialwerk Primavera ansässig, ein diakonischer Arbeitszweig zur Betreuung Jugendlicher. |
