Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Gjøngehøvdingen, der foregår under den Første Karl Gustav-krig i 1657-58. Inger, hendes kæreste Ib Abelsøn, den svenske kaptajn Kernbok med lyset og en flok fordrukne svenske officerer på herregården Holmegaard. Officererne vil gøre Inger ondt, men Ib Abelsøn beskytter hende. Før det kan komme til kamp, kommer kaptajn Kernbok imidlertid til og beder Ib Abelsøn om at gå. Det gør han vel vidende at den gode kaptajn vil beskytte Inger fra officererne.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Gjøngehøvdingen by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1657-58. Inger, her boyfriend Ib Abelsøn, the Swedish Captain Kernbok with the candle and a group of drunk Swedish officers in the mansion Holmegaard. The officers want to do harm to Inger but Ib Abelsøn is protecting her. Before a fight can breaks out Captain Kernbok comes and asks Ib Abelsøn to leaves. He does so knowing that the good captain will protect Inger from the officers.
