Description
Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Gjøngehøvdingen, der foregår under og efter den Første Karl Gustav-krig i 1657-1658. Dronning Sophie Amalie er ved at gå til ro under et besøg på Jungshoved Slot. Hendes beundrer kaptajn Kai Lykke har taget vagtens plads til dronningens morskab. De to damer der vender ryggen til er en kammerfrue med en lystestage og slottets frue Else Parsberg. Else Parsberg (1624-1684), Dronning Sophie Amalie (1628-1685) og Kai Lykke (1625-1699) var virkelige personer, men historien er fiktion.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Gjøngehøvdingen by Carit Etlar which takes place during and after the Dano-Swedish War in 1657-1658. Queen Sophie Amalie is about to enter her chamber during a visit at Jungshoved Castle. Her admirer Captain Kai Lykke has taken the place of the guard to the queens amusement. The two ladies at the left are a lady-in-waiting with a candlestick and Else Parsberg, the lady of the castle. Else Parsberg (1624-1684), Queen Sophie Amalie (1628-1685) and Kai Lykke (1625-1699) were real persons but the story is fiction.
